MARIE BATZ MARTIN

Vice President & General Counsel, Global Compliance

Marie Batz Martin joined Coherent Corp. in January 2023 as Vice President & General Counsel, Global Compliance. In this role, Ms. Martin is responsible for overseeing all trade compliance, corporate compliance, and privacy matters for the company. Previously, she was Executive Vice President, General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer, and Corporate Secretary for FlightSafety International, a Berkshire Hathaway company, in Columbus, Ohio. Before FlightSafety, Ms. Martin spent two years at Dentons Cohen & Grigsby, P.C., as a Shareholder in the Corporate Mergers & Acquisitions practice and over a decade at Alcoa Inc. in Pittsburgh in various legal, compliance, and corporate development roles. She started her career at Goldman Sachs in New York City.

Ms. Martin holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Spanish (cum laude) from the University of Notre Dame, a master’s in International Finance from Columbia University, and a J.D. degree (cum laude) from the Duquesne University School of Law.
